Bill Phillips

The golf tournament is held annually in memory of Bill Phillips. He was a resident of the Canton area, a 1945 graduate of Lehman High School and he attended John Carrol University. As the sole owner of the Home Beverage Company, he had been a member of the North Canton Elk, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Harness Horseman's Association, the Wholesale Beer Association of Ohio, The American Legion Post 44 and the Walsh College advisory board. Phillips, a U.S. Navy veteran, supported many local philanthropic and service organizations. He was married to Dorothy A. Phillips and was the father of two daughters and grandfather of one. All proceeds from this event will benefit the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.
